Why Web Hosting Is So Very Important

One of my friends has close to 20 websites hosted on a reseller account at eHostpros. Their biggest site, the one that makes them the most money gets over 2000 visitors a day and any interruption in hosting could really hurt their business.

It’s a good thing that eHostpros uses secure servers, or so their website says.

However, for 24 hours over the weekend most of my friends websites had a cartoon graphic of George Bush on them with the words ‘Wanted’ above it. Apparently the servers weren’t secure enough to handle somebodies prank. Then it took them 24 hours to fix the problem.

It would have been much better for my friends customers to see a website that was down rather than a political message. Now they will associate my client with that message and possibly never come back.

With the cost of hosting so cheap, it’s very important to find a very reliable host. My friend might have lost enough business in that 24 hour stretch to pay for a decades worth of hosting from a reliable host.

I am no expert on hosting, but I do have two recommendations for picking a good host.

  • They must have a phone number. So many hosts, like ehostpros do not have a phone number where you can reach them.
  • If you are unsure of what host to go with, trying using a site like Web Hosting Search that compares hosting packages and has reviews from users.

Never forget how important web hosting is to the success of your business.

I agree with that,

Also you shouldn’t keep all your eggs in the same basket.

Just had a nightmarish experience with ehostpros. I guess you get what you pay for. My site has been down for 3 days!!! Isn’t that illegal?!! I moving over to a new host. I will pay more, but at least I will have peace of mind.

Its always a shame when such events occur. I would only purchase hosting from companies that have: A respectable website design, Telephone number, and are registered businesses. A lot of hosts out there these days are run by teenagers who are looking to make a quick buck. Do some research before giving anyone your business.
