Coupon codes can be an excellent way to drive sales, but it takes more than just making the coupon to realize the full effect. Below are some ways of distributing the coupon code, which will in turn increase sales during and after the promotion.
- Depending on many factors (how often you release coupons, value of coupon, type of product, etc), your coupon may be considered newsworthy and thus press release may work wonders
- Post the coupon code on related forums. PayPerPost.com routinely does this on the digitalpoint forums
- Distribute the coupon code through coupon database websites. These coupon sites tend to have a large following, plus you’ll more than likely receive a backlink to your website. This backlink can help increase sales even after the coupon has expired
- Distribute the coupon code in your next newsletter to past customers
