ScanScout, a contextual video advertising company, has recently launched, according to a post on TechCrunch. On ScanScouts advertiser page, it says:
ScanScout’s Content Matching technology means more than just brand protection. It ensures that the right ad is shown to the right user at the most opportune time.
Brand Protection: ScanScout technology is designed to ensure that advertisers’ brand messages will only be seen adjacent to the most appropriate content.
ScanScout’s rich content scanning is deeper and more precise than anything ever introduced, creating algorithmic intelligence about each video and each user’s behavior, enabling far better matching than ever imagined and providing benefit to not just the advertiser, but also to the user and to the publisher.
While I could not find a place to sign up, but they did have a virtual tour on the homepage. I really suggest readers of this blog check it out, it is really interesting and ground breaking.

Overall it looks really interesting and is a huge step forward in internet marketing. I really think online video advertising (in Joost, YouTube, etc) is going to (and is already starting to be) the future of online advertising.
