ReviewMe launched a new service today called Advertorials. The new service allows advertisers to order blog posts like their current offerings with the difference being the advertiser writes the post. ReviewMe says that Advertorials are an “advertisement written in the form of an objective opinion editorial, and presented in a printed publication usually designed to look like a legitimate and independent news story.”
According to ReviewMe, some of the highlights of Advertorials are:
- You can browse our marketplace of top blogs and choose the blogs to run your message which you remain in full control over.
-
Advertorials also feature full impression and click tracking so you can measure your return on investment.
-
Advertorials are a great way to generate buzz and traffic while controlling the message and measuring your results!

From the blogger’s point of view, this has positive and negative points. On the positive side, you don’t have to do any work or research to do the review since everything is written up for you. On the negative side, you have no control over the message. Like all standard ReviewMe reviews, the publisher has the option to accept or reject the advertorial.
If memory serves correctly, ReviewMe competitor PayPerPost has had something similar out for quite some time. With PayPerPost’s service, an advertiser submitted a “press release” to bloggers, which were paid when posted.
It’s really interesting to see ReviewMe take this route, their model previous has been focused on quality reviews. This might be an attempt to reach some of the lower quality blogs, since any self respecting blog would never post pre-written content that is going on other blogs.
