Let’s start the week off with another round of statistics that should be relevant to internet marketers and e-retailers.
1. The top 10 retail product searches for November 2007 were wii, aqua dots, xbox 360, ipod, Pokemon, digital cameras, artificial christmas trees, furniture, ps3, guitar hero.
2. The top 10 retailer name searches of November 2007 were Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Amazon.com, Sears, Home Depot, Toys R Us, Costco and Overstock.com.
3. 40% of U.S. companies with annual revenue over $50 million offer web sites specifically for mobile phones.
4. 25% of mobile phone users in the U.S. surf the web from their phones.
5. When planning a trip 91% of travelers visit more than one web site to compare prices.
6. Petco found that shoppers that navigate to pages with top-rated products in customer reviews convert 50% higher than those that aren’t top-rated.
7. When Petco included included customer-generated star ratings in marketing emails, their click-through rate was five times higher than usual.
