Free MultiVariate Testing with Google’s Website Optimizer

Google has a service called Website Optimizer. It’s Google’s free multivariate testing application that helps increase visitor conversion rates and overall visitor satisfaction by continually testing different combinations of site content. In short, you can test sections of websites for the best conversion rate. This is something only larger companies have had the man-power and money to do, but now websites of any size can take advantage of this technique. It’s often discounted, but multivariate testing can increase conversions quite a bit.

Here is an excerpt of a case study:

Using insights acquired from using Google Website Optimizer, Moishe’s Moving Systems increases its lead collection rate by 50%

Say you get 1,000 visitors a day and have a 1% conversion rate. That’s 10 sales. Now apply multivariate testing and you could have 15 sales a day for just a little bit of effort.

Below is a sample report:

While the tool was down when I went to log in, Google has a great video of a demonstration of the tool. Does anyone know how long this tool has been available?
