MyBlogLog: Free Advertising

I have been an inactive member of MyBlogLog for sometime now, but decided to completely activate my account to test the traffic driving potential of the site. After I uploaded my photo, I was ready to go. First, I visited a few sites related to my niche and joined a few related communities as well. Next, I added MyBlogLog on my site to track users as well as promote visitors coming to my site. Since I’ve been using MyBlogLog, it has sent me about 3-5 unique visitors per day. While that amount is low, I expect it to increase shortly due to the Virtual Marketing Blog Community starting to grow. In fact, 2 people joined the community within days of creation and zero promotion.

Another great way to increase traffic is to visit sites related to your niche that have MyBlogLog integration. For example, below is a screenshot from JohnChow.

You can see my image on the upper left of the MyBlogLog box. Other visiting users can click my picture and be sent to my profile page, where there is a link to the Virtual Marketing Blog Community (which has a link to this blog).

Dave,

That’s what got me here…I saw you stopped by my MBL profile. I must say, I don’t get too much traffic from MBL but a little is better than none I guess.

Hey Dave - I have been a member of MBL for a while and not done much with it. This past week I logged in and had to do all the Yahoo! updating. I am not sold on the traffic that MBL will or does deliver - but none the less I have added their widget to my blog and will give it another go.

I joined your community in MBL. I have a question - how did you set up your community page http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/.....ting_blog/ to display your RSS feed? I don’t see that option anywhere.

Chris
