A great way to get repeat visitors to your site, especially if the site is a blog, is by allowing users to subscribe to an RSS feed. The best way to do this is by displaying and easy-to-view button or link on your website. If you look to the right of this post, you’ll see the button that allows readers to easily subscribe to the RSS feed for Virtual Marketing Blog. Another great way is to do what I just did. Anytime you mention your site’s RSS feed, link to it. While an RSS feed might seem insagnificant, dropping the content of your website in front of users who may not otherwise visit your site is key. Virtual Marketing Blog currently has 14 subscribers, but I hope to increase that to 100 by June.
You can also find out valuable user and reader information by signing up at feedburner. It can accurately track RSS feeds, view the type of software they are using, live hits, and other information. Feedburner also has a “livehit” section which can tell you what program and time the hit to your RSS occured.

You can also monetize RSS feeds with text-link-ads or feedburner.
