Branding has always been important in marketing, but is one of the most overlooked aspects of internet marketing. A number of popular “web 2.0″ websites, services, and companies have been emerging with names that, well, do not even make sense. It’s understandable, because many start-ups do want to dish out thousands of dollars for that already registered .com. This post will discuss the keys to naming a website, company, or service “web 2.0″ style.

The good ones are easy to remember, type (and spell), and are pronounceable. When coming up with a name, try to avoid placing two consciences or two vowels together that normally would not be together. There are exceptions, like changing “er” to just “r”.
