Clickable, maker of a web-based dashboard to help advertisers steer their online marketing campaigns, has closed on a $3 million series A financing round led by Pequot Ventures and Union Square Ventures.
The sites software lets advertisers track and analyze online campaign spending, performance, as well as set up automated alerts to be informed as conditions change.
Clickable Chief Executive David Kidder said:
Paid search spending by small and medium-sized businesses makes up nearly half of the search advertising marketplace, yet this market segment remains significantly underserved by agencies and tools
Rick Heitzmann, senior vice president at Pequot Ventures, said that they spent a lot of time in the media and advertising space and met with a lot of companies over the years focusing on online advertising. He also added that Clickable:
provided a real solution in making online advertising really simple.
Clickable is letting advertisers try the software in a closed beta test and plans to use the funding to push product development and stage an official product launch later this year.
I think it’s great that small businesses and small advertisers are finally receiving some recognition within the search advertising realm. I expect to see a number of small business online advertising tools (including some from myself) over the next year.
