The Weekender: 1/4 of all Web Users Cannot Perform a Simple Google Search

Wordpot recently updated its free online keyword research tool. The update includes a monthly keyword trend chart (I love how it animates), synonyms, related and associated words and the new keyword basket. The two best things about Wordpot, is that it’s free and its fast.

Today youTube announced the 12 winners of the 2007 youTube Video Awards. The categories include adorable, comedy, commentary, creative, eyewitness, inspirational, instructional, music, politics, series, short film, and sports. You can see all the winners here.

Search Engine Roundtable comments on usability expert Jakob Neilsen’s findings that “only 76% of users who expressed a desire to run a Google search were successful. In other words, 1/4 of users who wanted to use Google couldn’t do so”.

You know, all these keyword tools are great, but they never seem to consider the fact that people doing searches with them don’t know if results are daily, monthly and all inclusive of all SEs or just Yahoo and MSN, or whatever…

It’d be nice if they did KEI results are well.

People want to know at a glance what results actually “say”

I also find it very funny when exploring what keywords people use. They take something very simple, twist it around and come up with their search terms. Stop thinking so much. Just type in what you want.
